Fnatic, mTw, mousesports and Blank were put up to the test today to see who would pass through the quater finals.

The first of the two matches this morning here at DreamHack was between two Swedish titans were. A winner had to be determined.

The first map was de_inferno. Fnatic who has usually proved to be very capable on the terrorist side of inferno, decided to chose CT after winning the knife round. A well played gun round by fnatic, blank bought early by dropping one another weapons so they could have a weapon and vest combination. A choice that did not pay off and things started playing out in fnatics favor. There were close rounds but in several occasions fnatic was just the superior team and managed to gain a total of 11-4. Fnatic as previously mentioned are a very strong at playing the T side of de_inferno.

After half time Blank managed to win the gun round and the first weapon round bringing the score to a somewhat more even 11-8 in fnatic’s favor. When fnatic got their first round Blank won them over by harming their economy. Blank kept on winning rounds and a few rounds later things were tied up 12-12. Things were not looking the best for fnatic who usually have shown an impressive T side on inferno. Again Blank won the upper hand on fnatics economy and managed to get 15 rounds. For a moment it looked like Blank would win but fnatic were determent not to give up and forced the match in to overtime.

MR3 and 10.000$ would determine the winner. Fnatic got their A game running and won the half 3-0. Fnatic won the first round as CT and finished the first map 19-15.

The second map would be de_nuke. The first map finished tightly, nuke looking to be possibly another tight match. Fnatic started off as CT. Fnatic won the gun round along with the two eco rounds as well as the first weapon round. Fnatic picking up round after one another gave them a 6-0 start. Blank got round seven and their first round. A few rounds played out and fnatic managed to bring up the score to 9-4. The last rounds were close but fnatic managed to win the first half 11-4 for the second time.

Blank won the gun round as CT. Fnatic got the bomb down on gun round so they could buy early. After both teams winning each second round the score was three all between the teams. Fnatic managed to obtain the upper bomb site and got their fourth round. Blank forced to buy what they could, were able to withhold the incoming fnatic for one round untill fnatic ended the match 16-8.

Fnatic will be put up against mTw in the first of two semi-finals. It is once again promissing to be a Scandinavian fist-fight, can mTw once again knock fnatic to the ground?
